Federal Government Budget Analyst Staffing

​Financial / Budget Analysts:

  • Maintains heavy involvement in organizational development activities and advisement related to the improvement and efficiency of communication and information dissemination among senior management and leadership teams.
  • Performs a variety of budget functions in analyzing budgetary data, budgetary requests, and interpreting and applying budget guidelines in the execution and review of the budget area for a large office or major program areas characterized by some uncertainty in funding levels, program changes multi-year funding, or multiple funding sources.
  • Performs budget execution functions for assigned budget area. Monitors, reviews and reconciles commitments, obligations, reimbursable orders, etc.
  • Assures that Obligations incurred and resulting expenditures of funds are in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations. Identifies potential issues and provides recommendations for resolution of budgetary problems. Identifies opportunities and recommends process improvements to budgetary processes, policies and procedures.
  • Provides Branch and Division with procedural and regulatory guidance concerning availability of or limitation on the use of funds.
  • Reviews progress of all obligations and maintains sufficient familiarity with operating and financial programs to make early recommendations of the reprogramming actions
  • Prepares justification for reprogramming actions and submits for approval
  • Participates in the funds control process to include planning for program restrictions and revisions to the original budget plans and recommendations for changes to original planned distributions.
  • Coordinates and provides review of acquisition and reimbursable agreement activities
  • Assembles and develops background data and documentation in support of requested program funding.
  • Performs studies and audits on the programs’ operations with primary emphasis on use of funds throughout the fiscal year.
  • Assures that obligations incurred and resulting expenditures of funds are in accordance with pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Plans and conducts studies to determine the requirement for updated financial information
  • Plans and conducts studies, using standard evaluation techniques, in conjunction with other personnel.
  • Develops program budgetary guides, templates and other financial and HR documentation to be used by the program in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain automated system of CDC external projects identified by the technical administrator to include program-specific data to track suspense on items such as grants, cooperative agreements, project milestones, progress reports, funding accomplishments, compliance strategies, etc.;
  • Provide guidance and aid in the planning, review, and reporting of CDC data/statistical results of program project studies by performing a basic analysis of the availability, interrelationships, and accuracy and consistency, of data and generating a variety of reports;
  • Perform work related to the acquisition and/or development of program information and resource materials to support the organization's policy development and/or technical activities;
  • Collect program data or information following routine search procedures;
  • Research various resources, publications, database; libraries, etc., in order to extract, summarize, and compile information required for the activities of the organization;
  • Supports efforts within the Branch including the providing technical guidance regarding new and continuation activities, budget and performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Will perform a variety of budget functions including: analyzing budgetary data and budgetary requests; interpreting and applying budget guidelines; maintaining and reporting on funding levels, monitor program changes for multi-year funding contracts and maintain multiple funding sources. This also includes performing budget execution functions such as: monitoring, reviewing and reconciling commitments and contract obligations.
