  • Responsibilities and Job Description: The analysis of the quality performance and capability of Suppliers and the definition of actions to enhance supplier’s performance. Also, to discuss the quality strategy for this commodity space with the Commodity Sourcing Manager and the Engineering Leads involved on the development of the technology and suppliers roadmap. Visit suppliers to perform process characterization and to review supplier’s progress on the qualification of new parts using APQP / FMEA / MSA / SPC / PPAP and Run@Rate. In case of critical quality issues impacting product performance in the field or at one of Whirlpool’s manufacturing divisions, visit divisions to perform a DOE, apply problem solving techniques, and address the resolution of the issues with suppliers, capturing the root cause analysis and problem solving on a 8D Report.   • Process Control Engineer for windshield annealing glass operations.  Responsible for both OEM and Aftermarket daily production.  These were Selas type gravity sag and Japanese Type windshield bending furnaces. Led in all electrical and mechanical troubleshooting repairs with Electricians and Millwrights.  In charge of maintenance, process improvements, project upgrades and programming of Adept Robots to automatically solder electrical clips to the heated backlights. Responsibilities included programming and adjusting robot programs.
  • Two patents on Furnace burner redesign and extended chain life design by using a Nitride Coating process. In addition, developed a carbon based fixture insulator to reduce tooling marks.

  • Project Manager for new Hitachi Robot Line for the Lebanon Car Line
  • This included writing the project, following the build and design in New York for three months, installation, startup and debug in the plant, and training electricians maintenance and troubleshooting of this equipment.  This process used highly volatile chemicals which required all non-flammable safety devices and all low voltage signals to the assembly areas. Met and exceeded production rates of over 120 pairs / hour.
  • Also, duties included evaluation and installation of European Fabrication Equipment from Italian Suppliers.
  • Set up an ordering and invoicing system with Italy from the USA plant so orders could be entered and filled in a 24 hour span. Took a trip to Rome Italy to test program and approve equipment runoff prior to shipping. 
  • Installation and debug of an automation design to place a metal hinge assembly to the leading edge of side door glass for the Chrysler Mini Van application. Startup, setup temperature profiles, testing qualifications, launch, and train operators to start and run the equipment. Developed Operator interface two hand non-tie down pneumatic tables to assemble and glue the hinges in repeatable location. Worked directly with the Supplier and verified software and programming.
